I am a Child of God

Every summer the girls participate in a summer reading program at the public library. They are working on a list that was given to them where they need to read books that fit under a certain category. For example, they need to read a book about animals, pets, a biography, a fiction book and non fiction book.
Emma asked me what non fiction meant and I told her that it was a book about something true or something that really happened. She went into her room and came back with a little book called, I am a Child of God. "Here is my non fiction book, Mom." I started to tell her that the book wasn't quite a non fiction book but I could not even finish my argument when she interrupted me and very sternly said, "BUT IT IS TRUE MOM! We are children of God." How grateful I am for children in my life who remind me who we really are and what is really TRUE.

I am a Child of God
Written by Wendy and Michael Nelsen

I am a child of God, So HE shares His love with me.
I know God listens to me because I am His child.
I am a child of God and He sees me as I can become.
I Know I am a child of God because He surrounds me with people who love me.
Because I am a child of God,
I can learn about His world, and share what I learn with others.
I am child of God and His angels watch over me.
I am a child of God,
And I can love all of His creatures both great and small.
Because I am His child, He shows me the way to my dreams.
I am a child of God,
And He wants me to choose friends who will help me climb higher.
Because God loves and cares for me, I can learn to care for others.
I am God's child, and He has given me a wonderful world to explore.
I am a child of God, And He gives me talents to share with others to make His world more beautiful.
I can be brave and strong, for as a child of God, I am never alone.
I am a child of God,and Jesus is my brother. They are my friends.
They know my name and They love me.

1st grade here she comes!

We are so proud of little Miss Emma Lou! She successfully completed her first year of school! She had her Kindergarten graduation today at her school and it was fun to watch her!

She wanted a graduation cap cake to celebrate her special day, so between Mom and Dad we came up with this cake. Not bad for our first attempt!

Tabs was not quite as excited as Emma. I think she would have been happier without the sister hug! :)

Shaking the principals hand and getting her diploma!

Emma and Daddy!
(*Due to mom being big and pregnant- that picture was left out*)

Now that graduation is over- LET SUMMER BEGIN!!!!

Memorial Weekend

Athena and Joe came for Memorial weekend. We had a fun weekend but of course the kids had the most fun just being together!

The weekend would not have been complete without DQ! And nice auntie Mia bought the biggest cones for the girls!
Tabs just got done getting staples in her head before this pic...she fell and cut her head open-Prove that ice cream really does make it all better!!!

Lucky Easton! Look at all those cute girls he is surrounded by!

New Van

We finally did it! We went and got a minivan! The girls LOVE it!

The windows even roll down instead of push open!

I Love Family

Athena and Joe blessed little baby Easton 2 Sundays ago. My whole family was together. With Spring and Mark moving soon, I can't help but wonder when the next time will be when this CRAZY group will get together again. I love my family and am blessed to have them all in my life.

LOVE THESE KIDS!

My Top Model

Marie bought this hat for Tabs for Christmas. I don't know what it is about it, but every time she puts it on she says, "I just feel like a model in this hat Mom! Take my picture!" Okay...

I think she even has the stance down!

"Wait! One more Mama!"....
I think she's a NATURAL! ;)

Christmas 2009

We had a nice Christmas with our families. Christmas Eve was spent at the Muai's. Grandma lays the gifts out in piles unwrapped and then when it is time she calls the girls in to see their loot. I think Tabs was just a tad bit excited! Don't get in her way!!
Grandma made the girls matching, nighties, robes and slippers. They sure look cute in them. Too bad Syd couldn't be in this picture with the girls.

Christmas day was spent at the Meisenheimers. We sure had fun meeting the new little cousin. She sure was a CUTIE. And I am convinced that she has red hair just like her Auntie. ;)

The girls had fun giving gifts to Grandma too.
We spent all of Christmas in our PJS playing with the new toys. "I wish everyday could be Christmas!"
