Tabs is Amazing

I Love both my girls. They both have such AMAZING qualities about them. I am truly blessed to be able to be their Mama.

Tabitha never ceases to AMAZE me with her courage and endurance. Today she had to go to the dentist and get a cavity filled. I feel so bad that she had to at age three. I don't understand. My girls brush morning and night and floss but yet they get cavities! It makes me feel like a bad Mama but I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Well, I am used to Emma who needs sedated when she goes to the dentist because she is so scared-which I don't blame her. So I was nervous how Tabs would do. Well, Tabitha jumped up into the chair all excited. They numbed her with the shot in her mouth and she was fine she didn't even twitch, complain, ABSOLUTELY nothing. Then they filled her cavity and she she just laid there completely still no whines or cry nothing. Well, she also had a little cavity on the other side of her mouth. The dentist said that it was just on the top layer of the tooth. He said that since she was doing so AWESOME he was going to try to fill it without numbing that side. He did. She didn't move, cry -NOTHING. She is so amazing!!! I cannot believe how tough my little baby is. When it was all done she hopped down from the chair and exclaimed, "That was so much fun Mom! I had the best time!" Crazy girl! :)

After such a good job at the dentist I told her she could have a milk shake. The girls are also in swimming lessons right now and today was their testing day to see if they passed to the next level. Well, neither of them did but they tried their best so I said, "Tabitha since you did so great at swimming and the dentist let's go get a milkshake!" But instead of jumping for joy my little 3 year old says, "Well, I am kind of sad Mom." I asked why and she said, "Because I didn't do my best at swimming today." I said, "You did good Tabitha it is okay that you didn't pass we will try again." Then she said, "NO. I didn't do good because I didn't do my best. I could have done better and I didn't. Next time I need to do my best."

WOW. That must be her Muai blood because for a 3 year old to say that just amazed me.

Summer Time

Well, sadly my camera is broken. Hopefully we will get a new one soon. It kind of puts a damper on blogging when you can't post pics. I got a few pictures from a friend and from my sister so I thought I would post them.
Well, Summer has definitely started here. It has been pretty warm the last few weeks. The girls really are loving it. We have been spending our days in air-conditioned rooms or outside in water!
I signed the girls up for the summer reading programs at 2 of the libraries here. We love going to the Library!! Here is Tabs at one.

We are still getting used to life with a puppy. Here is Emma and Buddy!

Fun times at the sprinkler park!
Happy summer Everyone!

Almost got away...

Today my sister Athena and I were supposed to be on a road trip. My old roommate is getting married today in Utah and so Athena was coming with me for the ride and the much deserved break. We left last night around 6pm. We were just going to drive to Anthony's Aunt Carol's house in Boise. We didn't even  make it 20 minutes away from my house when the sky turned this scary bleak gray. (Anthony said it reminded him of tornado weather he'd see in Texas.) Right after we commented on the ugliness of it, my phone rings. It was Auntie Carol.  She calls to tell us that there was a Storm warning on the news. Winds up to 70 miles per hour, thunder and lighting and hail the size of golf balls!  As in Carol words, "hail like that will chop you up pretty good." Yea, thanks Carol. I told her that I was going to talk to Athena and we would decide what to do. I think that she wanted some company because she said, "You should be fine, when the hail comes just get under an overpass." Okay Carol. What if there is NO overpass?!!!!  Needless to say we didn't brave the weather. I am sad that I am not at my friends wedding and I am sad that we didn't get our trip but after watching this video I don't regret our choice. Can you see me in this hail storm Athena? I would have peed! :)

Livin my Life

I wanted a dog. I really really wanted a dog. Now I have a dog and I am thinking "What did I just do?"
He pees in my house, he steals my laundry and flip flops to chew, he play bites the kids-sometimes a little too hard. My girls don't really know how to treat him gently or leave him alone for that matter so I have also created another battle with my children. I tell myself it is only the 4th day, he is only after all a puppy(the vet told me he is no older than 8 months-the animal shelter told me he was 10 years!-BIG difference people!!!) That explains his bladder control problem. That also explains his chewing problem. "He needs hard things to chew on so he can work at getting those baby teeth out," said the Vet. I assured him he was working at it. Not only chewing on his toys but our toes, feet, legs, arms, hands and fingers. I won't bring up the carpet or Emma's precious barbie doll.
I called Anthony today and said, "I can't do it anymore! I don't know what I was thinking! I don't know anything on training a dog!" This was, after all, Anthony I was talking to. I have asked him on and off for 6 years if I could have a dog. His response was always the same, "You know I don't like Dogs. especially not in the house. That is just gross." So I was expecting his total support on this. I was expecting him to be happy. I mean he has peed in the house about 20 times nothing is more gross than that. Instead he stuck up for the little guy. He WANTS to keep him. He actually likes him. The peeing, surprisingly, doesn't really bother him.
Okay,so he must be one AMAZING little puppy.
Fine. Plan B.
I tell him than I am getting rid of the birds. (We have 2 parakeets) He does after all HATE the birds with a passion. He has told me this quite a bit. His response, "Well, I don't know."
 WHAT?!!!!
"You hate the birds," I say.  He replied with a hesitant ,"I guess so. Do want you want."
I didn't even ask if we could get rid of the goldfish.
I think that as a Mom I just get stressed and feel that I added a whole lot more stress to myself but like Anthony said, "Phebe, just give it a few weeks, we all have to get used to each other." I guess we will see if he is still saying that when I get back on Sunday. My sister and I are going on a road trip all weekend. All I have to say is Good Luck Anthony! :)

*I don't really want to get rid of my animals. I am just having one of those days.

Our New Buddy

Here is the new addition to our family. I took him to his check up today and he weighs 7 pounds and is thought to be a chi weenie.
Not the best picture of our "little Buddy" but my camera broke so this is the picture the animal shelter sent to me.

Pet Photo
(He really is so much cuter in person!)
